Brief Resume of Some Key Personnel

IMEVBORE, Anthony Malomo (Chairman)
Professor Imevbore (B.Sc., Ph.D.), formerly of Obafemi Awolowo University and a Fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Science (FAS) since 1982, is ERML’s Chairman. He is an ecologist who has specialized in aquatic biology and environmental management. 

Prof. Imevbore is a renowned scientist and one of the foremost environmental consultants in Nigeria. He has been a consultant to the FAO, World Bank, UNEP, UNDP and many other local and international establishments. He represented Nigeria at the World Environmental Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 1992 and has been actively involved in the development of environmental regulations for Nigeria.

His research interest in the past thirty years has focused on a wide range of issues concerning the impact of large dams, environmental and health impacts of irrigation projects, environmental effects of water resources development, fish and fisheries of inland water bodies, water hyacinth, and the institutional aspects of environmental management.

In 1983, he was the leader of the Environmental Consultancy team of the then University of Ife that produced a six-volume report on Environmental Pollution Monitoring of the Niger Delta for the Niger Delta River Basin Development Authority.

As a fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Science, he has served in several ad-hoc committees. He was one of the trainers in an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA,) “Train the Trainers” Session sponsored by the British Council for the Federal Environmental Protection Agency of Nigeria. He was also a member of the International Panel of Experts on Desertification set up by the UN to assist the Secretariat of the UN - for Desertification and former chairman of the WHO/FAO/UNEP Panel of Experts on Environmental Management (PEEM) for disease vectors.

Professor Imevbore has published over several hundred papers, excluding contributions to books, reports and journals.

IMEVBORE, Victor Ohioze (Managing Director)
Victor Imevbore is a Petroleum Engineer. He has managed ERML since inception, providing overall administrative and technical direction to the firm. He has worked on and supervised several environmental and socio economic studies/programmes particularly for the oil and gas industry. The exceptionally high standard of management and implementation of ERML’s oil-industry related projects and studies reflect his training as a Petroleum Engineer.  

Victor Imevbore has over 15years experience in all aspects of environmental consulting, including compliance monitoring, pre and post activity Environmental Assessments, Laboratory Analysis, Environmental Sensitivity, Social Impacts of industry activities amongst others. One of his major qualities is his deep understanding of the Niger Delta environment and the social effects of industrial developments in general. Mr. Imevbore has also been involved in the development of environmental regulations for the oil industry in Nigeria.

Areas of present and future focus include: Strategic environmental and social issues related to resource exploitation in the Niger Delta; Environmental pollution; Regional environmental and social effects of development, and energy-economic -environment relationships.

He is presently Project Director for the EIA studies for the Brass Liquefied Natural Gas and Olokola Liquefied Natural Gas Projects in Nigeria.

Mr. Imevbore has supervised, published and contributed to over 100 technical papers, and reports.

He was recently given an award of the Faculty of Science of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ife in recognition of his contribution to the advancement of science in Nigeria.

AMIDA, Oluwatosin (Environmental Information Systems)
He is a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing professional. He is proficient in several geospatial analyses involving Vector and Raster datasets. He is competent with several GIS software and tools and possesses valuable GIS experience in areas such as satellite image analysis, environmental modelling, data manipulation and general map design and publishing. He has brought his skills and expertise into view on the various GIS projects he has participated in within the company.

He is currently working on incorporating Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) technology into GIS and Remote Sensing processes in the company.

A few of the projects he has participated in include:

  • Environmental Due Diligence of OML 42 (Oil Impacted Area analysis with GIS and Remote Sensing)
  • Shoreline Change Analysis (Erosion/Accretion) along the Imo River.
  • Shoreline Change Analysis (Erosion/Accretion) for the OKLNG Project Area Shoreline.
  • OKLNG Early Access Infrastructure and Site preparation ESHIA (GIS Analyses, Map design and publishing)


NWADIKE, Emmanuel (Senior Environmental Specialist) 
Nwadike Emmanuel is a Microbiologist with over 10years experience in various aspects of environmental management consulting, including pre and post activity Environmental Impacts Assessments, Environmental and Social Compliance Monitoring of Industry activities both offshore and onshore. He has supervised several field sampling programs in the Niger Delta swamps. Mr. Nwadike is well vast in equipment handling for various environmental measurements.

He is presently leads the Environmental Monitoring department of ERML. He has also managed several key projects executed by ERML.

OSEMEKE, UCHE SYLVESTRE (Head, Oil Spill Response Services & Waste Management.)
Mr. Osemeke is an active and experienced Environmental Scientist with a valuable expertise in Waste Management Systems especially in Oil Spill Response Services and Remediation Techniques. He holds over ten years of Field and Consulting experience in Environmental Management in the Oil and Gas Sector with professional membership in; Nigerian Environmental Society (NES), Nigerian Conservation Foundation (NCF) and Nigerian Institute of Safety Professionals (NISP), Environment – Oriented Cost Management (EoCM) Nigeria Network (EoCMNET) etc. He has been actively involved in numerous completed and on-going projects in Nigeria. He has also contributed to several technical reports and participated in a number of seminars as a resource person.

AGBEBI, Oluwaseun (Laboratory)
Agbebi Oluwaseun, is an Environmental Specialist/Analyst with experience in environmental field work and designs, environmental laboratory analysis with keen interest in Instrumental Analysis/Chemistry. He has been actively involved in numerous completed and on-going projects in Nigeria especially in laboratory analysis and data generation for use in a variety of environmental studies/reports.

Currently, he leads a team of chemists/analysts in ERML Laboratory with involvement in analysis like hydrocarbon analysis (GC-FID, GC-MS), crude oil fingerprinting/forensics, metal analysis (MP-AES, AAS, and Flame photometer), soil & water chemistry, microbiology, toxicity, bioaccumulation, etc.

In the same vein, Agbebi Oluwaseun is also an author of numerous published scientific articles. He has participated in the following projects:

OYELAMI, Ayodeji (Environmental & Social Studies)
Dr Oyelami is an experienced Environmental Scientist with a focus in the area of remediation of contaminated land & ecotoxicology. He is able to use his systemic research and analytical skills to solve complex problems and make valuable expert recommendations.

His research focused on investigating the impact of sorbent materials on the biodegradation of contaminants in soils, with a view to reducing the bioavailability; hence, reducing risk that contaminants pose. He specialised in the development of new methods for the bioremediation of contaminated soils; and methods for identifying the mechanisms of toxicity occurring in cells when exposed to novel materials. He is well-versed in the generation/use of statistical data required for the completion of large projects, and has advised/provided guidance on data interpretation.

He has written several sections of multiple consultation documents, participated at public consultation events in areas due for redevelopment; including writing literature aimed at various stakeholder groups.

He currently co-ordinates Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) reports, conducts eco-toxicity tests and due diligence for clients.
